“Mainstream media” or “extreme media” in the UK?
A poll published Tuesday in The Daily Telegraph found that 72% of Britons believe the U.K.’s role in Iraq made the country more vulnerable to attack by Islamic terrorists.
That may be a majority view for the British public -- but not, apparently, for the country’s political leaders or major media.
Prime Minister Tony Blair's office said Tuesday there was no link between last week's bombings and the Iraq war, with Blair stating in the House of Commons Monday: "It is a form of terrorism aimed at our way of life, not at any particular government or policy."
